Government officials have free from this noon for Día Reyes

Puerto Rico – Government officials are free as of 12:00 this Tuesday as ordered by the executive chaired by the governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro Pierluisi.

According to a memorandum from the Office of Administration and Transformation of Human Resources, after noon it will be considered a “holiday” due to the feast of the Magi that is commemorated this Wednesday.

Half of the day granted to public employees, as stated in the document, will not be charged to any leave.

Furthermore, “it will not have the effect of extending the vacations of those employees who are enjoying them.”

“Employees of public agencies and instrumentalities of the Puerto Rico Government Human Resources Administration and Transformation System, who, due to the nature of the services provided by the agency, are required to work for the time granted, will receive compensatory leave at the rate of time and a half ”, reads the document.

The municipalities, according to the document, may also take the same measure.
