Governor Regrets FBI Arrests Within The Puerto Rico Police Force

The governor of Puerto Rico, Wanda Vázquez, regretted the arrests of Puerto Rico Police personnel, which were carried out this morning by the federal authorities in Humacao.

“Unfortunately, today we see how a few have stained the honorable body of the Police. If they broke the law and their oath to serve the people, they have to be out. The true men and women of the police work honestly to defeat corruption,” the governor said on Twitter.

This morning, it was reported that federal agents served at least four warrants arrest of police officers between the towns of Humacao and Maunabo. Among those arrested is a police sergeant.

Later today the feds will be issuing statements to specify the reasons for the arrests.
