Strength – The governor reported Thursday that before traveling to Orlando, Florida, last week, and upon arriving from New York to Puerto Rico, the molecular test for COVID-19 was done, both of which were negative.
“Responsibly, before traveling to the United States and now when I arrived on the island, I performed the molecular test for COVID-19, and both tests were negative,” the governor reported in a written communication, who will repeat the test in five days .
She mentioned that the staff who traveled with the first executive also took the test and all obtained negative results.
“I acknowledge and thank the staff who receive and guide passengers every day to fill out the traveler’s questionnaire and follow up on them to be able to identify any person who may be infected with the virus. Thanks to these measures, we have been able to control the spread of COVID-19 on the island, ”said the first executive.
The governor pointed out that it was a productive trip after visiting the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA) office in Orlando, meeting with the mayor of Kissimmee, José Álvarez, and the city administrator to give follow-up to various initiatives.
He also met with Rear Admiral Peter Brown, among others.
While in New York, he held a very productive meeting with staff from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and with FEMA Region 2 Administrator Tom Von Essen, securing additional assistance for the program. of Unemployment and Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA, for its acronym in English).
Yesterday, Wednesday, he met with the Fiscal Control Board (JCF) to insist that 200,000 people be added to the Vital Plan.
“We will continue working in conjunction with federal agencies to continue providing aid to Puerto Rico, especially at times like this when we want to protect the lives of all of us who live on this island,” he added.
