Hacienda offers details on the $ 600 economic stimulus

The Secretary of the Treasury, Francisco Parés, will offer a press conference this afternoon in which he hopes to clarify details about the delivery of the $ 600 federal stimulus for the pandemic.

As he had advanced, Puerto Rico would receive $ 1.7 billion to be distributed among 2,995,000 people as part of the economic stimulus package approved by the United States Congress to help combat the crisis that the coronavirus pandemic has generated.

The projection of the Treasury Department is that in February the disbursements to citizens and their dependents will have already begun or will begin, which will be $ 600 per person, including minors. But, Parés was emphatic that the agency and the Puerto Rico government depend on the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the United States Department of the Treasury to approve the distribution plan they presented.
