Health investigates alleged agglomeration of people in shopping centers

The Department of Health (DS) confirmed that it is investigating whether, as reported through social networks, there have recently been crowds of people in shopping malls without following safety and protection protocols to avoid contagion of coronavirus.

“Indeed, we are aware of the photos disseminated through social networks, related to citizen complaints about the crowding of people in a shopping center in the metropolitan area. Given these photos, we are in an investigation process to take immediate action. Similarly, we have complaints from other establishments, located in shopping malls that, allegedly, do not comply with the rules of social distancing or quota of people, for which all are under investigation, "said in written statements, Jesús Hernández, director of the Investigation Division of the DS.

The official urged citizens to report similar situations or any other that is related to non-compliance with the rules established by the agency to control COVID-19. He said they can write to email [email protected].
