Health registers 10 additional deaths from Covid-19 | government


The Health Department report reported ten deaths from Covid-19; meanwhile, 284 confirmed cases and 215 additional probable cases were registered.

With these cases there are 642 deaths and 45,413 confirmed and probable cases since the pandemic began.

Of the reported deaths, eight were classified as confirmed and are listed below:

– 85-year-old man from the Metro region

– 60-year-old woman from the Arecibo region

– 70-year-old man from the Metro region

– 69-year-old man from the Metro region

– 62-year-old woman from the Bayamón region

– 70-year-old woman from the Caguas region

– 62-year-old woman from the Caguas region

– 45-year-old man from the Metro region

In addition, two probable deaths were reported, corresponding to two men, aged 62 and 69, corresponding to the Bayamón and Metro regions, respectively.

With these additional deaths, the confirmed deaths total 471 and the probable deaths are 171, making the total number of deaths 642. The total confirmed deaths was adjusted after re-evaluating a previously reported death and determining that it does not meet the criteria for vital statistics. of a death associated with Covid-19, for which it was subtracted. On the other hand, the total of probable deaths was adjusted given that, after the reevaluation of two previous cases that did not meet these criteria, they were therefore eliminated.

The data re-evaluation and validation process is done in conjunction with personnel from the Demographic Registry, Salud reported.

In addition, the agency highlighted that any death registered after the report is issued will be reflected in subsequent reports.

On the other hand, the total of the results of confirmed cases of Covid-19 is 22,164, of which 11,862 are women and 10,302 are men. The total was adjusted after adding 19 cases with a sampling date from August 25 to September 8; in addition, seven duplicate cases were subtracted. The reported cases are those that have a positive PCR test, with a sample collection date of September 9-23.

As part of the report, 215 additional probable cases were registered, with a sampling date that includes September 9-23. In this line, the total is 23,249 after being adjusted, by subtracting 33 cases that had a positive molecular test, later, and were added to the cases registered as part of this report; In addition, three duplicate cases were subtracted and 33 cases were added with a sample collection date from May 1 to September 8. Probable cases are divided into 12,936 women and 10,313 men.
