Health reports 192 new infections and 496 hospitalized for coronavirus


The report of the Department of Health reported no deaths from COVID-19; while an additional 192 confirmed cases and 378 probable cases were registered.

Meanwhile, the number of people hospitalized was 496 the same as yesterday's Health report, when 10 coronavirus-associated fatalities

Without additional fatalities, the total confirmed deaths remain at 99 and the probable ones number 102, so the total deaths are 201. It is important to remember that any death recorded after the report is issued will be reflected in subsequent reports.

On the other hand, the total of the results of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is 5,236, which was adjusted by adding two cases ; one with a sample collection date of July 2 and another with a sample collection date of July 3. Of that total, 2,629 are women and 2,607 men. The reported cases are those that have a positive PCR test, with a sample collection date of July 13 to 23.

On the other hand, 378 additional probable cases were registered, with a sample collection date from 13 to July 23, 2020. In this line, the total is 9,907, after being adjusted, by subtracting 23 cases that had a positive molecular test, later, and were added to the cases registered as part of this report. Similarly, 54 cases were added with a sample collection date of June 23 to July 7. Probable cases are divided into 5,402 women and 4,504 men; one case remains under investigation in the area of ​​sex.

The adjustments in totals are made as part of an effort by the Department of Health, entities and clinical laboratories, to ensure that all samples taken for COVID-19 are recorded in the Bio Portal, regardless of the date it was taken.
