Health reports a death from coronavirus and 316 hospitalized

The Department of Health reported today a death from coronavirus, and 188 confirmed cases and an additional 109 probable.

The additional death, listed as confirmed, corresponds to a 57-year-old man from the Ponce region . With his death, the confirmed deaths add up to 81 and the probable ones remain at 97, so the total number of deaths is 178 .

Health pointed out that the increase in the number of deaths should not be interpreted as these occurred in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the hospitalized persons increased to 316 as reflected in the agency dashboard . On the other hand, the total of the results of the confirmed cases of COVID-19 is 3,461 . Of that total, 1,748 are women and 1,713 are men. It was indicated that this total was adjusted by adding a case with a sample collection date of June 6. The reported cases have a positive PCR test with a sample collection date of July 1 to 15.

In addition, Salud reported 109 additional probable cases, with a sample collection date of July 9 to 15. In this line the total is 7,992 after being adjusted by subtracting three cases that had a positive molecular test later, and added to the cases registered as part of this report. Likewise, 38 cases were added with sampling dates from May 12 to June 26. Probable cases are divided into 4,227 women and 3,621 men.

On the other hand, Salud maintained that in the presentation of the dashboard eight additional molecular cases were awarded yesterday to the municipality of Vieques. The agency said that after investigating the situation and maintaining communication with Mayor VĂ­ctor Emeric, said cases were adjudicated to the corresponding municipalities, because they were located in the wrong way.
