Health reports eight additional deaths from COVID-19 and 439 new cases

The Department of Health reported this morning that another eight people died on the Island from COVID-19. In addition, it added another 439 cases, between positive and confirmed.

Of those cases, 206 were confirmed with molecular tests, while 24 pertain to antigen test results and another 209 are classified as suspicious.

The total number of deaths in Puerto Rico from the disease is now 1,570.

The number of additional deaths should not be interpreted as having occurred in the last 24 hours. Similarly, it is important to note that the total number of deaths may vary as the processes of registration and codification of the causes of death take place, which can take several days.

89-year-old woman, Bayamón

66-year-old man, Bayamón

67-year-old woman, Aguadilla

93-year-old man, Metro area

72-year-old woman, Bayamón

90-year-old woman, Bayamón

80-year-old man, Caguas

61-year-old man, Ponce
