Health reports eight additional deaths from Covid-19 | government


The Health Department report reported eight deaths from Covid-19; meanwhile, 359 confirmed cases and 238 additional probable cases were registered.

With these new cases, there are 34,003 confirmed and probable cases accumulated since the pandemic began.

Meanwhile, the agency reported on its dashboard 373 hospitalized by the virus.

Of the 373 people hospitalized, there are 71 intensive patients and 53 with a ventilator. No pediatric patient is hospitalized for the virus.

Of the reported deaths, five were classified as confirmed and are broken down below:

– 89-year-old man from the Ponce region

– 53-year-old man from the Metro region

– 72-year-old man from the Metro region

– 72-year-old man from the Bayamón region

– 78-year-old man from the Metro region

The report recorded three probable deaths, which are broken down below:

– 46-year-old woman from the Ponce region

– 89-year-old man from the Bayamón region

– 93-year-old woman from the Metro region

With these additional deaths, the confirmed deaths total 293 and the probable ones are 150, making the total number of deaths 443.

On the other hand, the total of the results of confirmed cases of Covid-19 is 15,942, of which 8,340 are women and 7,602 are men. The total was adjusted after adding two cases with a sampling date of July 25 and August 13; in addition, three duplicate cases were subtracted. The cases reported are those that have a positive PCR test, with a sample collection date of August 17-30.

As part of the report, 238 additional probable cases were registered, with a sampling date that ranges from August 17 to 30. In this line, the total is 18,061, after being adjusted, by subtracting 44 cases that had a positive molecular test, later, and were added to the cases registered as part of this report. On the other hand, two duplicate cases were subtracted and 32 cases were added with a sample collection date from April 13 to July 23. Probable cases are divided into 9,939 women and 8,121 men; one case remains under investigation in this line.
