
The Health Department report reported eight deaths from Covid-19; meanwhile, 167 confirmed cases and 249 additional probable cases were registered.
Thus, 209 total deaths and 15,840 confirmed and probable cases since the pandemic began on the Island.
Of the reported fatalities, five were listed as confirmed; They are broken down as follows:
– 83-year-old man from the Metro region
– 82-year-old man from the Metro region
– 72-year-old woman from the Mayagüez region
– 41-year-old man from the Metro region
– 69-year-old man from the Aguadilla region
Meanwhile, the agency reported on its 'dashboard' 469 hospitalized by the virus.
Of the 469 people hospitalized, there are 66 patients in intensive care and 37 with ventilator. No pediatric patient is hospitalized for the virus.
On the other hand, three deaths were reported as probable and correspond to a 57-year-old man from the Arecibo region and two men, both 81 years old, from the Arecibo and Bayamón, respectively.
With these reported deaths, the total confirmed deaths add up to 104 and the probable deaths are 105, so the total number of deaths is 209.
On the other hand, the total case results confirmed of Covid-19 is 5,585, which was adjusted by adding two cases with a sampling date of July 6. Of that total, 2,815 are women and 2,770 men. The reported cases are those that have a positive PCR test, with a sample collection date of July 13 to 24.
As part of the report, 249 additional probable cases were registered, with a sample collection date of 16 as of July 25, 2020. In this line, the total is 10,255, after being adjusted, by subtracting nine cases that had a positive molecular test, subsequently, and added to the cases registered as part of this report. Probable cases are divided into 5,610 women and 4,644 men; one case remains under investigation in the sex line.
