The report of the Department of Health reported six deaths from COVID-19 while 181 confirmed infections and 158 additional probable cases were registered.
Likewise, the virtual tool of Health, the “dashboard”, reveals that at the moment there are about 393 people hospitalized for coronavirus in Puerto Rico. The figure yesterday was 406, the date on which 13 deaths from this disease were reported.
Of the total deaths reported, four were classified as confirmed and are broken down below:
– Woman of 77 years from the Bayamón region
– 54-year-old man from the Metro region
– 78-year-old woman from the Metro region
– 86-year-old woman from the Metro region
On the other hand, reported two probable deaths that are broken down as follows:
– 59-year-old woman from the Metro region
– 82-year-old woman from the Aguadilla region
With the reported fatalities, the confirmed deaths add up to 205 and the probable ones are 130, so the total number of deaths is 335 . It is important to remember that any death recorded after the report is issued will be reflected in subsequent reports.
The change in the number of deaths should not be interpreted as having occurred in the last 24 hours. Similarly, it is important to point out that the reporting of deaths may vary, to the extent that the processes of registration and coding of causes of death occur, which could take several days.
On the other hand, the total of confirmed COVID-19 case results is 11,251. The total was adjusted after adding one case with a sampling date of July 24. Of that total, 5,814 are women and 5,437 men. The reported cases are those that have a positive PCR test, with a sample collection date of August 3 to 13.
As part of the report, 158 additional probable cases were registered, with a sample collection date that runs from August 6 to 13. In this line, the total is 14,755, after being adjusted, by subtracting 35 cases that subsequently had a positive molecular test, and were added to the cases registered as part of this report. Similarly, six cases were added with sampling dates between June 29 and July 29. Probable cases are divided into 8,083 women and 6,672 men.
