The government began disbursing funds for small and medium merchants who suffered losses from Hurricane Maria in 2017.
Governor Wanda Vázquez today gave the first $ 50,000 check for a program they launched three months ago, called Small Business Financing (SBF).
The first businesswoman to receive the funds was Cristina Sumaza, owner of Lot 23, the local in Santurce, where the press conference was held.

The Secretary of the House, Luis Fernández Trinchet, said that, since the government shutdown began, there are only 10 people working on these applications.
