Hospitalized total 440 in the last day of 2020 | government

The Health Department reported on the last day of the year 440 hospitalized by Covid-19, a reduction of 10 compared to yesterday’s figure.

Of the total number of patients held for the virus, 78 are in intensive care and 70 are connected to a ventilator. Two minors are in intensive care.

Yesterday the second minor in intensive care was reported. Health spokeswoman Michelle de la Cruz confirmed that it is a patient under 10 years of age, who is in stable condition. The other pediatric patient is an adolescent.

According to the daily Health report, since the emergency began, 4,070 confirmed cases have been reported in children under 10 years of age and 6,226 infections among young people aged 10 to 19 years.

Puerto Rico currently has 3,331 beds for adult patients, 257 intensive care beds and 843 ventilators, as well as 964 pediatric patient beds, 73 intensive care beds and 129 pediatric ventilators.

On December 14, a streak began with less than 600 hospitalized – except on the 16th – including 446 hospitalized on December 26, a number that had not been seen since November 1.

The year closes with 1,503 deaths associated with the coronavirus after Health added 19 deaths in today’s report. The 19 deaths occurred in December. The 2020 total could increase, as the report has updated data as of December 30.
