
Almost a 99.5% of the subscribers of the Electric Power Authority (PREPA) already have the electric light service.
At 4:00 p.m. today, about 8,202 subscribers, out of 1.5 million customers, do not have the service reported engineer Javier Chaparro, regional administrator of Mayagüez of PREPA.
That amount without service includes some 4,699 clients from the Mayagüez region (comprising 15 towns), who were affected this afternoon when a private tree removal company carried out tree trimming work and affected a primary wire.
The past Thursday in the midst of the passage of Isaías storm through Puerto Rico, some 450,000 people were left without electricity . Meanwhile, on Sunday a new incident with the electric service was registered in the AES plant, in Guayama leaving over 100,000 customers without service.
