Hurricane intensity wind gust felt in Salinas


Tropical storm Laura has strengthened this afternoon near Puerto Rico and now has winds of 50 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center.

However, its gusts have felt stronger in the southeast of the Island This afternoon, a Category 1 hurricane intensity burst was recorded in Salinas.

The center of the storm is south of Cabo Rojo.

As the center of Tropical Storm Laura moves west of Puerto Rico, strong gusts of wind are being reported in southwestern Puerto Rico.

At the moment, the National Weather Service in San Juan has indicated that the wind has been close to 50 mph in the southeast towns of the island and that a 67 mph gust was reported in Guayama.
