The total number of hospitalized with coronavirus (Covid-19) on the Island fell to 293, a figure that had not been observed since last October when the Department of Health reported 292 patients in one day.
Of the 293 hospitalized, 55 are in intensive care and 37 are on a ventilator. There are no pediatric patients hospitalized with coronavirus.
On July 17, Salud reported the figure – at its record time – of 302 hospitalized. The day before, the total was 280.
In December, the record number of hospitalized at the time was reported: 657. The number of patients with Covid-19 began to decrease in the middle of the month to reach 293 hospitalized today.
The country’s health system currently has 2,719 beds for adults, 208 intensive care beds, and 866 ventilators. 890 pediatric beds, 59 intensive care beds and 122 pediatric ventilators are also available.
Health today reported seven deaths and 592 additional cases of coronavirus, between confirmed and probable. To date, 1,801 deaths and 85,954 confirmed cases have been reported since the pandemic began in March last year.
