In 401 those hospitalized for coronavirus on the Island | government


The number of hospitalized for coronavirus (Covid-19) on the Island woke up at 401, a drop of 20 compared to the figure reported yesterday by the Department of Health.

Meanwhile, 67 adults are in intensive care, two less than yesterday. The total number of patients connected to ventilators fell from 57 to 52.

A pediatric patient is among the statistics on the Health portal as an inmate in intensive care. Health has not offered further details about the minor, who is only known to be a teenager and has been hospitalized for several days.

On the other hand, Health detailed that there are 15,041 13,541 convalescent patients, an increase of 1,500 compared to yesterday’s figure. Salud defines a convalescent patient as a “person who is recovering from an illness. Gradual recovery of health after illness.”

The country’s hospital system currently has 3,086 beds for adults, 218 intensive beds, 963 pediatric beds, 64 pediatric intensive beds and 799 ventilators.

Salud reported in its most recent daily report 121 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and another 164 probable cases. Total deaths from the virus rose to 523, after adding 11 fatalities – 10 confirmed and one probable – in the past 24 hours.
