In 434 those hospitalized for Covid-19 on the Island | government

A pediatric patient remains connected to a ventilator due to Covid-19, while the number of hospitalized increased from 408 to 434 -26 additional in the past 24 hours-, according to the Health Department website.

Of the hospitalized patients, 67 are in intensive care and 39 are on a ventilator.

Regarding the pediatric patient with a ventilator since yesterday, the Department of Health has only reported that it is an adolescent. According to the agency’s ‘dashboard’, this minor has been hospitalized for Covid-19 since last September 8.

Meanwhile, the number of convalescents rises to 16,397. Salud defines a convalescent patient as a “person who is recovering from an illness. Gradual recovery of health after illness.”

The country’s hospital system today has 3,155 beds for adults, 216 intensive care beds, 764 ventilators and 998 pediatric beds.

The most recent Health report reported 19 deaths, a record daily number since the emergency began in March – although the deaths did not occur in the past 24 hours. 58 confirmed cases and 53 additional probable cases were recorded.
