San Juan – The investigation into the murder of artist and community leader Nilda Álvarez Lugo is in its preliminary stage, the commissioner of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau, Henry Escalera Rivera, said in a radio interview this Monday.
“We are starting the investigative process. We have to wait for this to continue its course, but the process is beginning, “said Escalera Rivera in an interview on Pegaos en la Mañana on Radio Isla with Julio Rivera Saniel.
“Nothing is ruled out at this point, but we cannot establish the motive (the motive), the situation at this time. The processes are starting. In the course of the investigation, all this will be determined, ”said Escalera Rivera regarding the femicide of Álvarez Lugo.
The 64-year-old woman was killed Friday in the apartment where she lived, located on the 10th floor of a building in Río Piedras.
