Industrialists will carry out virtual forum of the health industry

SAN JUAN – The Puerto Rico Industrial Association (AIPR) will hold a Virtual Forum where we will touch on critical issues related to health care, especially in these times of pandemic.

Among the topics to be covered there will be a panel of experts talking about the importance of attracting manufacturing back to American soil to ensure the supply chain of essential products to attend the emergency created by the Covid-19 pandemic. After the success of the event held last year, we are sure that the educational offer of this forum will have a great impact for the participants and the AIPR, announced Carlos M. Rodríguez, president of AIPR.

The AIPR Health Committee will hold the Health Industry Forum or “Health Industry Forum” on Friday, November 13, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm through a special AIPR platform. High-caliber international speakers, leaders from the regulated industry and healthcare companies from both the island and the United States will be in charge of presenting the themes of this important event.

Rosa Hernández Toledo, president of the AIPR Health Committee, highlighted that Puerto Rico is facing great changes and transformations that require all of our focus and knowledge to carry out the initiatives that are necessary to adapt to new times, especially those that impact public health and economic development of our country. To this end, we have developed a great global agenda that responds to the challenges we have at this time, including the Covid pandemic and the opportunity to once again attract pharmaceutical manufacturing to Puerto Rico.

This event provides a broad view of new trends that could contribute to the continuous effort to strengthen the health segment of Puerto Rico and a unique opportunity for our participants to be exposed to innovative knowledge at a global level.

One of the presentations of great impact that we will have in the activity is a panel with speakers from Europe, the United States and Central America where we will have the participation of Dr. Antonia Coello, a prominent Puerto Rican physician and public health administrator, Dr. Juan Alonso Echanove, an expert in epidemiology from Europe, and Teresa Tono Ramírez, Research Director of the Organization for Health Excellence of Colombia who will discuss the international global perspective of COVID 19.

As part of the forum agenda Andrew McKenchnie, company lobbyist Peck Madigan Jones will present the federal perspective on health care programs and the issue of resilience among organization leaders at critical times will be discussed by Stephen Shedletzky of Simon Sinek , Inc.

On the other hand, we will have a panel that will discuss the importance of Puerto Rico as a Manufacturing “Hub” in the science area, highlighting the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. Another of the presentations will be in charge of Maria Fernanda Levis, CEO of Impactivo Consulting with the topic of: Innovation with Telemedicine and Patient Access.

As a closing we will have a presentation that achieved a standing ovation at last year’s activity. Once again, we will have winning groups of the Enactus competition: presenting a refreshing perspective on public health care, said the Atty. Orlando González, leader of the AIPR Health Forum.
