Intermittence in the water service to Rincón and Aguada due to mechanical failure

As a mitigation measure, water is distributed in tanker trucks throughout the affected sectors, in coordination with the municipal Emergency Management offices.

AGUADILLA – The director of the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA) in the Aguadilla area, Ebdiel Escobar Castro reported this Thursday that the Culebrinas filter plant is still out of operation due to mechanical problems in the raw water pumps that supply the facility .

As a result of this breakdown, the subscribers residing in the Naranjo, Laguna, Atalaya, Cruces, Jagüey and Guanábano neighborhoods in Aguada have interrupted their water service; as well as the Puntas, Atalaya and Cruces neighborhoods in Rincón, the AAA indicated in a written communication.

Personnel work to repair failed pumps and agency crews make operational adjustments to the distribution system. While the repair is complete, subscribers will continue to experience low pressures to intermittent service.

As a mitigation measure, water is distributed in tanker trucks throughout the affected sectors, in coordination with the municipal Emergency Management offices.

Given the possibility of turbidity, it is recommended to boil the water intended for human consumption for three minutes.
