San Juan – The National Meteorological Service (SNM) in San Juan issued on Wednesday a flash flood warning for municipalities in the metropolitan area.
According to the SNM, the municipalities of Bayamón, Guaynabo and San Juan will remain under flood warning until 5:30 in the afternoon.
At 2:30 p.m., Doppler radar detected heavy rain due to electrical storms. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. About 1 inch of rain has fallen.
Additional rains of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
A flood warning means that river or stream flows are high, or waterlogging in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Excessive runoff from heavy rains will cause flooding in small streams and streams, urban areas, roads, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low-lying areas.
