
JCPenney will reopen the doors of its six stores in Puerto Rico tomorrow after a temporary closure due to the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Its stores will be operating from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. at 5:00 p.m.
JCPenney also offers designated shopping hours for at-risk customers in all stores on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. at 10 a.m. Clients at risk include seniors, pregnant women and people with underlying health problems.
"We are operating differently and taking a strategic and consistent approach, keeping the safety of our associates and clients our priority", Jim DePaul, executive vice president of stores at JCPenney, said in written statements. “We are pleased to welcome our loyal customers and dedicated associates. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive as we reopen our doors, primarily focused on our enhanced security measures. "

JCPenney continues to monitor CDC recommendations, as well as state and local mandates, to inform its practices, take extra precautions, and go beyond those recommendations to provide a safe shopping and working environment, such as:
Sidewalk pickup available at all of your stores
Improve cleanliness with a focus on high-contact areas during the day
Social distancing and security labeling through the store and at the time of pay
Contactless payment from customers' mobile devices through a barcode
Personal protective equipment for associates, the company will provide masks, gloves and hand sanitizer
Plexiglass protectors on cash registers
New shopping hours
Associate training on health and safety policies
Extended return policy and more time to use the JCPenney Rewards

All six stores in the chains that operate on the island are located in Plaza Las Américas in Hato Rey, Plaza Carolina, Plaza Centro in Caguas, Mayagüez Mall, Plaza del Caribe in Ponce and Plaza del Norte in Hatillo.
