The resident commissioner, Jenniffer González, criticized from her social networks the protest in the form of a caravan that took place this afternoon to demand the closure of the Luis International Airport Muñoz Marín as a security measure in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The socialist movement is the one protesting and requesting the closure of the airport. The airport is the main tool for economic development on the Island, "said González in a publication from his Twitter account.
The automobile mobilization took place this afternoon in Isla Verde and was called by the Socialist Movement of Workers to demand that the government put a stop to the arrival of tourists to the Island, at a time when passengers are still allowed to enter for vacation purposes and after weeks in which several incidents have been reported with visitors who refuse to comply with the security protocols.
Today's best sample. The socialist movement is the one who protests and calls for the closure of the airport. The airport is the main tool for economic development on the island. Without it there is no exit or entry, nor the flow of cargo that moves much of our economy. https://t.co/y0b3ooEyFS
