Judicial Branch to suspend operations on Wednesday at noon


As a result of the tropical storm warning issued for Puerto Rico, all the dependencies of the Judicial Branch will suspend their operations at noon tomorrow, Wednesday, July 29, 2020 . This was reported by the Administrative Director of the Courts, Hon. Sigfrido Steidel Figueroa, who added that regular work is expected to resume on Friday, July 31, 2020 or as soon as the weather conditions allow . If the conditions are favorable ahead of schedule and do not represent a risk to people's safety, the return to regular activity will be announced in a timely manner.

“Before the tropical storm warning issued by the National Weather Service, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Hon. Maite D. Oronoz Rodríguez, ordered the suspension of operations from tomorrow at noon to guarantee the safety of our officials and citizens with matters pending in the courts, "Steidel Figueroa explained in writing. [19659003] As reported, the Investigation Rooms will offer services as long as the weather conditions allow. Once operations are completed, the system of judges on duty will be activated to deal with emergency situations. The cases and calendar issues that are suspended will be reviewed and the parties will be notified of the new dates.

The Supreme Court of Puerto Rico shall attend to matters concerning the extension of the terms through resolution.
