Cayey – The Caguas Criollos once again hung nine zeros on the RA12 team, with a 4-0 scoreboard, this Tuesday in the continuation of the winter baseball semifinal series, at the Pedro Montañez de Cayey stadium.
La Yegüita reached the gates of the final series 3-0 and extended the chain of innings to 20 without allowing a run in the postseason.
Right-hander Tommy Romero looked impressive, striking out 10 and giving way to just two hits in five innings to score the win. The rest of the route covered the relievers Luis Leroy Cruz, Alexis Díaz, Chris Muller and Christian Torres
Caguas took the lead in the fourth inning, when with two outs, Isán Díaz took advantage of left-hander Omar Sánchez’s wild pitch.
Three of the four races of the Criollos were manufactured in the seventh episode. Noel Cuevas ‘solo home run brought the hosts’ second round, while singles by Jancarlos Cintrón and Johneswy Fargas placed the match with a four-touchdown advantage.
Sánchez carried the defeat by RA12, with five chapters launched. He allowed two hits and one run.
In the three games of the series, RA12 has barely been able to produce a touchdown against the Cagueño pitchers.
Fourth game on the Bithorn
After the recess on Three Kings Day, the action of the semifinal A between the Criollos and RA12 will resume this Thursday at 6:05 in the afternoon with the fourth match of the series, at the Hiram Bithorn stadium in San Juan.
With a victory, Caguas advances to the final series for the Puerto Rico championship.
