The level of severe drought in Puerto Rico increased between June 30 and July 7, according to the report released this Thursday morning by the United States Drought Monitor.
As of June 30, 22.44 percent of Puerto Rico was under the category of severe drought. As of July 7, it increased to 32.19 percent, for an increase of 9.75 percent.
While the moderate drought decreased slightly, from 54.69 percent to 54.54 percent.
The anomalous drought touched 73.20 percent of Puerto Rico as of June 30. As of July 7, it was reduced to 72.20 percent.
As of June 30, 26.80 percent of Puerto Rico was not under any level of drought. As of July 7, it is at 27.80 percent, according to data from the United States Drought Monitor.
