Macy’s reopens its stores in Puerto Rico

Today Macy's is reopening its stores to customers and communities in the Puerto Rico area, offering a selection of beauty, fashion accessories and home items, plus the perfect items to search online and pick up at the store .

Following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as state and local guidelines, Macy's stores, including Plaza Del Caribe and Plaza Las Americas, will be open to 9 am public at 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday and closed on Sunday, offering free service to pick up your purchases on the sidewalk of the store from your car. “We are introducing new precautions to keep your family and ours safe and we are now offering the service of picking up purchases from the car on the sidewalk of the store to deliver what you are looking for quickly and easily. Our teams have come together to support each other and support the community in these challenging times, and we look forward to serving our customers when they are ready to shop. ”

In-Store Safety Measures

For customers shopping in-store, Macy's has implemented enhanced safety and wellness practices to help combat any health concerns, complying with the protocol recommended by the CDC. This includes frequent and improved cleaning in high traffic areas and on hard surfaces; implementing guidelines for social distancing to maintain at least 6 feet of distance between all clients and colleagues; installation of hygiene stations in different places of frequent visits within the store, as well as the protective glass ‘plexiglass’ in select payment boxes. Macy's is also asking colleagues to wear face masks to help prevent the spread of the virus and is conducting daily wellness checkups among colleagues before they report to work.

Picking up purchases from the car Contactless

Customers who prefer the ease of picking up their purchases can now use the service known as the “curbside pick-up” of picking up from their car without personal contact at select Macy's stores. Items purchased online at http://macys.com through the “Store Pick-Up” category or through the Macy's mobile app will be eligible for the free pick-up service from the car between 9:00 am and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Most orders placed before noon will be available for pick-up the same day. Customers will call their local store once they arrive at the designated pick-up location on the sidewalk of the store. Following the social distancing guidelines, a colleague at Macy's will confirm the order and place their merchandise in the trunk of their car, limiting contact between customers and colleagues.

In select locations open to the public, customers can also pick up orders from the “At Your Service” box area inside the store, a dedicated space for picking up or returning items.
