A 24-year-old man was admitted to prison on charges of attempted murder, violation of the Arms Law and mistreatment of a minor in an incident reported on July 14 at a residence located in the sector Las Cruces del Cedro Arriba neighborhood in Naranjito .
According to the police report, Luis Padilla Ríos, 24, pointed and shot a 4-year-old boy with a shotgun rifle in the face. . The minor was at his grandmother's house when the incident occurred. The minor was transported to the Naranjito Diagnosis and Treatment Center where he was referred to the Pediatric area of the Medical Center to be evaluated by an Ophthalmologist and a Maxillofacial surgeon.
Prosecutor Carlos Peña ordered to file a charge for attempted murder, Arms and Child Abuse Law for Padilla Ríos.
Judge Manuel Méndez of the Bayamón Court found cause for arrest and set a bond of 175 thousand dollars, which he did not lend. He was booked and admitted to the Bayamón Regional Prison.
