Man jailed for stealing shoes from Ponce police officer


A man was admitted to prison after allegedly stealing a policeman’s shoes and trying to open a security drawer of the agent’s vehicle, in the parking lot of the Ponce Canine Unit, authorities reported Saturday.

According to the Police report, Luis Torres Rivera placeholder image, 29, opened the official Ford Explorer vehicle and took the tennis of agent Hiran Oliver, attached to the Canine Unit of Ponce.

Torres Rivera was arrested when he allegedly tried to open a security drawer for the patrol.

The judge of the Superior Court of Ponce, Rafael Pérez, determined cause for arrest and imposed a bond of 10 thousand dollars, which he could not pay, for which he was admitted to the Bayamón Correctional Complex.
