The Secretary of the Department of Health (DS), Carlos Mellado López, announced the 10 municipalities that they will visit to carry out massive antigen testing events to detect COVID-19. To take the test, the person only has to show their photo identification.
It is not required to present a medical plan or medical order.
“We continue our massive testing campaign with the mission of detecting positive cases for the virus in time, stopping the spread and being able to identify possible patients to receive monoclonal treatment. This is not the time to lower our guard, on the contrary, it is the time to continue taking care of ourselves and protecting others, ”said Mellado López after urging citizens to take the test.
On Tuesday, February 23, DS staff will be at the Centro de Bellas Artes in Las Marías and at the Coliseo Tomás Dones parking lot in Fajardo. On Thursday 25, at the Pedro Montañez Stadium in Cayey and at the Lauro Dávila Coliseum in Toa Alta. Both days the public will be served from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.
While on Friday, February 26, tests will be held at the Glidden Feliciano athletic track in Peñuelas, at the Antigua Las Piedras detour and at the Barceloneta Convention Center between 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. On Saturday 27, tests will be taken on the boardwalk in Arroyo, at the Nito Cortijo de Ceiba stadium and at the Coliseo Municipal parking lot in Maunabo. In these three municipalities, the samples will be taken by means of the servicarro modality complying with the health protocols.
As explained by the official, the results of the antigen tests are ready in approximately half an hour, and maintaining confidentiality, they are sent by email to the patient. In addition, the results are documented on the BioPortal platform to maintain official data in real time that will serve the scientific community for its research and the government to establish public policy.
