SAN JUAN – The mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulin Cruz, has announced “stricter” measures to control attendance at bars and restaurants in some areas of the capital and thus contribute to controlling the spread of Covid-19.

The reaction takes place after a video was broadcast through social networks of the area known as La Placita, in San Juan, a place where there is a large concentration of bars, cafes and restaurants and many of them even do so in the same square without being in a specific one.

In them you can see consumers without a mask and without maintaining the physical distance between them.

“This behavior forces us to take stricter measures that will be announced this week. I have also reiterated to the municipal police their duty to intervene in these situations, ”said the mayor through her official Twitter account.

Adults admitted to intensive care for Covid-19 have gone from 79 to 90, between yesterday’s report and today, released this Sunday by the Department of Health.

In turn, the aforementioned agency reported 14 deaths from Covid-19 today; meanwhile, 599 confirmed positive cases, 99 probable cases and 385 additional suspected cases were registered.

The reported deaths were classified as confirmed.

They are people between 90 and 37 years old from the Caguas, Bayamón, Ponce and metropolitan area.

With these additional deaths, the confirmed deaths total 725 and the probable ones are 210, so the total number of deaths is 935.
