AGUADILLA – The incoming mayor for the Municipality of Aguadilla, Julio Roldán Concepción, announced on Monday the first appointments of his work team as Chief Executive of the City.
Among the appointments are current municipal administration officials.
“As the chief executive of Aguadilla, it is my commitment and responsibility to appoint a competent, trained work team and above all else, capable of identifying with the daily problems that our people face. This includes current employees of the Municipality of Aguadilla, whom we are evaluating and who, if they meet our requirements, can be recruited, “said Roldán Concepción in written communication.
Among the officials named today is Maviael Morales Nieves, as Municipal Administrator. Morales Nieves, served as Executive Director of the Incoming Transition Committee. He has 12 years of public service experience in administration and supervision. Among other things, he was part of the initial group that developed the Special Communities program promoted by Former Governor Sila M. Calderón. He has a bachelor’s degree in History and is a certified thanatologist from the University of Puerto Rico.
As Municipal Secretary will be Maritza Ruíz Cabán. He has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Mayagüez University Campus. He headed the office of the Tourism Company of the Ponce region. He has vast experience in management, administration and management of human resources both in government and in the private sector. He has directed and organized various international events on tourism and cultural exchange in Puerto Rico.
Meanwhile, Wanda González Rivera, current Budget Officer of the municipality of Aguadilla will be the Director of Finance. González, has 39 years of experience in public service in the Municipality of Aguadilla in areas such as Finance, Planning, Office of the Mayor and the Municipal Legislature. He did his bachelor’s degree in Accounting at the Mayagüez Campus and the Interamerican University of Aguadilla.
In the direction of the recreation and sports office, Roldán bet on the experience and knowledge of Carlos González Nieves, who is a professional basketball coach in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Mexico. He was a leader of the Santeros de Aguada, the Indias de Mayagüez, Piratas de Quebradillas and the Brujos de Guayama in Superior Basketball. He holds an Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the UPR in Ponce and has achieved several international basketball championships.
Roldán completed the appointments made today with Ing. Wilfredo Del Valle Cerezo as Director of Public Works; Ivette Fantauzzi Feliú as Director of the Office and the Centers for Affairs for the Elderly; Rosario Villanueva Bravo as Director of Municipal Housing and Federal Programs; Annette Montalvo Santiago as Director of Human Resources; William Balaguer Cuevas as Director of Public Buildings; José Robles Cortés as Director of Tourism and Culture and José Ruíz Concepción as Director of Planning and Project Administration.
