
The mayor of Barranquitas, Elliot Colón Blanco, today urged families living in vulnerable areas to seek refuge from the passage of tropical storm Laura .
Colón Blanco mentioned that his municipality activated the emergency plan and which began conversations with the regional brigades of the Electric Power Authority (PREPA) and the Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA).
“The situation of electric power was the most that affected our communities in last storm Isaías, so we are going to have greater communication with the brigades to make the process of restoring service more agile in case there is a problem. We are going to be doing the same thing with the AAA. ”

The official pointed out that recently the municipality acquired specialized equipment to promptly deal with any incident.
