Mayor of Guánica is sworn in, although a determination by the Supreme Court is pending

GUANICA – Despite the fact that a determination by the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico still persists, the certified candidate of the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) of Guánica, Ismael “Titi” Rodríguez Ramos was sworn in as mayor on Monday.

“After receiving the official certification from the State Elections Commission (CEE) as the elected mayor of Guánica, signed by its president Francisco Rosado Colomer and after having completed the transition process with the outgoing administration, I inform you that on the morning of Today, Monday, I was sworn in as mayor of Guánica, before Ariel Irizarry, ”said Rodríguez Ramos in a written communication.

“The Guaniqueña municipal administration cannot remain without direction, since the outgoing trust team completed its work last Friday, as they had previously reported,” he added.

“However, we remain awaiting the determinations on the cases pending before the Supreme Court. In good times and bad, we have Guánica in our hearts, ”he concluded.
