The mayor of Humacao, Reinaldo “Rey” Vargas announced on Tuesday that he will be kept in preventive isolation during this week after being notified on Monday afternoon of a person who tested positive for COVID-19 and who had contact with him.

“After receiving a call from the Health Department yesterday afternoon where I was notified about a person with whom I shared and who tested positive for COVID-19, we proceeded responsibly and I performed the antigen test which was negative , as well as the molecular one, which I will have the results in 48 hours. Do not start with the negative result, and if I have the two doses of the vaccine, I will be following the protocol established by the Office of Investigation and Tracking of the municipality, accepting preventive isolation throughout this week, ”explained the chief executive from Humacao.

Vargas informed that he will work remotely and in constant communication with his work team to give continuity to the established agenda.

“We reiterate the call to all citizens to come to our Vaccination Center in the Marcelo Trujillo Panisse Coliseum or any authorized pharmacy so that they can receive the vaccine safely,” said the mayor.
