HUMACAO – The mayor of Humacao, Reinaldo “Rey” Vargas, is willing to stand in front of the Luma Energy facilities together with local residents to attend to their problems with the electric service in the eastern area.
In an interview with Radio Isla, the mayor said that the municipality could work on public lighting and disengagement in the municipality, but not larger jobs as stipulated by the company by contract.
“There are simple things that one could take care of … but put a line to the municipalities for complaints, that is not a problem for the municipalities,” he said.
“I would be willing to work the public lighting, possibly the disengagement, but take care of large breakdowns, including transmission and distribution breakdowns, no. First, we don’t have the team, we don’t have the people or specialists to do that, ”he said.
