The Miradero Filter Plant in Mayagüez resumed operations on Saturday night, after a fault was repaired in a 36-inch diameter line that supplies raw water to said installation, reported the director of the Aqueducts and Sewers Authority (AAA ) in the Mayagüez Area, Luis Cabán Medina.
The official explained that the service would begin to be restored in the urban center of Mayagüez and the lower parts from Saturday night and early Sunday, but in the upper parts of Mayagüez, sectors in Cabo Rojo, Hormigueros and the municipality of Añasco, it would be gradually reestablishing on Sunday.
The AAA recommends boiling the water that is going to be used for human consumption for a period of three minutes, given the possibility of turbidity when the water service is resumed.
