The Family Department and the Family Socio-Economic Development Administration (ADSEF) have disbursed more than $ 221 million in food assistance to Pandemic EBT students (P-EBT) since the program began on March 19, 2021, supporting 272,171 students on the island.
“Ten days after starting the disbursement of food assistance, there are more than 272 thousand students supported by this program. The project is already in its third phase serving students from schools and non-profit organizations. We have the first reports that the Family Cards have already arrived in the mail and those families have been able to make their purchases without setbacks, ”assured the Secretary of the Family, Dr. Carmen Ana González Magaz.
Daily on the portal pr.gov/pebt/ the list of schools with validated data is published so that families can enter their application. To date there are 87 validated colleges, with 25,893 eligible students.
“Families must be assured that this food assistance is guaranteed and will be received by every eligible student accordingly. We continue to enter the reconciled data of the school entities every day and we encourage families to submit their request by confirming that the school is included in the validated list. We already have over 14 thousand applications from college students confirmed through the portal. These families can establish an account to consult their balance and transactions carried out in www.ebtpr.com“, explained for his part, the administrator of ADSEF, Alberto Fradera Vázquez.
Families can also contact the P-EBT Service Center by calling (787) 705-8350, available from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 00 pm or access the link pr.gov/pebt/ to consult the data of the schools.
Fradera Vázquez shared that the reports in the shops are positive, “no difficulties have been reported in systems at the level of the trade, nor agglomeration of people, thanks to the coordination carried out in anticipation of these benefits and the organization by phases.”
The resources of the P-EBT can be used for the purchase of unprepared food in the more than three thousand certified shops of the PAN and in the Family Markets. Each monthly disbursement can be used for up to a period of six months, so families do not have to make use of the total assistance in a single month.
