More than 78 million people with Covid-19 in the world | Present

Tarnishing the holiday of Christmas Day, more than 78.93 million people have been infected by Covid-19 in the world, according to official figures of confirmed cases, and 1,735,882 have died.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The main countries with the most numbers of confirmed cases, according to numbers of cases of infections and deaths are:

United States: 329,000 deaths and 18,700,000 cases of infections.

India: 146,756 deaths and 10,123,778 infections.

Brazil: 189,220 deaths and 7,365,517 infections.

Russia: 53,096 deaths and 2,963,688 infections.

France: 62,268 deaths and 2,527,509 infections.

United Kingdom: 69,625 deaths and 2,188,587 infections.

Turkey: 19,115 deaths and 2,100,712 infections.

Italy: 70,900 deaths and 2,009,317 infections.
