Given the growing need for Internet service for students who take their classes virtually, the mayor of Morovis, Carmen Maldonado González, expanded the educational project ‘Educating with love’, enabling chairs, tables and umbrellas in the public square so that citizens can access the wi-fi internet service that originates in the Municipal Library. The installation in the plaza took into consideration the importance of physical distancing, essential while the pandemic lasts.
“At Morovis we generated the Educando con Amor se project so that parents can have support in different instances, with free internet service and advice from retired teachers,” Maldonado explained. The project began on August 17, the same day that classes begin, in the fields and libraries of the neighborhoods. Retired teachers and tutors serve parents with students at specific time periods, “the mayor added in writing. The Municipal Library continues to offer services Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The Moroveño municipal educational project also offers several workshops with the psychologist Dra. Maite Negrón to promote self-confidence in children. For more information, those interested can call 787-862-2155 with the Office of Art, Culture, Tourism and Education of the Municipality of Morovis.
