He Mayor of Toa Alta, Clemente “Chito” August announced today, Monday, the availability of funds for residents of the municipality who have arrears in their rent or mortgage payments due to the lack of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We announce the availability of funds for the payment of rent or mortgage for those from Towns who have seen their income affected as a result of COVID. With this help the participants will receive up to $ 1,500 dollars for the payment of the rent or delinquent mortgage ”, he explained.

August detailed that within the Requirements to qualify for mortgage payment assistance individuals must be residents of Toa Alta, qualify for income according to the federal income limits, present a mortgage deed or bank certification, certification that it is for the main residence, certification from the bank that it took advantage of a moratorium between the months of March to June 2020, among others. In the case of applicants for the payment of rent, they must be residents of Toa Alta, qualify for income according to federal income limits, present a notarized rental contract, present a certification that shows partial or total reduction of income for the period of the pandemic among others.
