SAN JUAN – The mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulín Cruz Soto, invited Puerto Ricans on Saturday to remember the lives lost in the emergency after Hurricane María through a trolley that presents the photographic exhibition “3,000 NUNCA MAS / NEVER AGAIN” that citizens will have to travel from their vehicles in the Luis Muñoz Marín Park.

“With this exhibition“ 3,000 NUNCA MAS / NEVER AGAIN ”we want to pay tribute to our people and the communities that bravely demonstrated their ability to take care of those who have less after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. Given the abandonment of those who had the responsibility to help us and the ineptitude and bureaucracy of the federal government, the communities, hand in hand with the municipalities as the only support in the first line of response, ”said Cruz Soto

“The pandemic forces us to keep our distance and keep ourselves behind a mask, but that is not enough for Puerto Rico not to remember the 3,000 people who did not see the light today and the effort of those who remained to resume the daily life of a people ”He added.

“We invite you to visit the Luis Muñoz Marín Park to see the exhibition“ 3,000 never again / never again ”today Saturday and tomorrow Sunday from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The entrance is free of cost. That same tribute is captured in a 10-foot-tall, 40-foot-long mosaic mural that will be permanently displayed on one of the exterior walls of the Hiram Bithorn Stadium, a creation of artist Celso González. The memory of these 3,000 Puerto Ricans who are not here today has to summon us to build a country of solidarity where we can face the responsibility that this never happens again, “he concluded.
