Municipality of Ponce recognizes a policewoman who was the object of bullying in the networks


The mayor of the Autonomous Municipality of Ponce María E. “Mayita” Meléndez Altieri, today recognized the work and dedication of the Municipal Police agent, Rosalyn Santiago, just days before Public Servant Week. Agent Santiago was the victim of harassment and mockery on social networks after an image was disseminated without her consent and in which she is compared with another woman who is also a member of the uniformed police.

“We chose the Municipal Police of Ponce as a representative of all our public workers who have been on the front lines during the emergencies that we have experienced due to earthquakes and now due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. Among these outstanding police officers, Ponce is honored to have Agent Rosalyn Santiago as part of our uniform. Santiago has been wearing his uniform for more than 16 years and has distinguished himself by doing an excellent job, "said Meléndez Altieri.
