The Department of Health together with the Puerto Rico Vaccination Coalition (VOCES) and a group of health professionals will carry out vaccination today for the elderly population at the Mario Quijote Morales Coliseum, in Guaynabo.
As reported, for this mass vaccination “all older adults were cited through the lists that the coalition has generated since Phase 1b began.”
Edaliz Ferrer, from VOCES commented to THE SPOKESMAN that the 1,000 people mentioned will be being administered the vaccine manufactured by Moderna.
Moderna’s vaccine is administered in two doses – the second at 28 days – and is 94% effective.
For his part, Health Secretary Carlos Mellado thanked the health professionals who voluntarily participated in this massive vaccination.
“We will be able to reach the goal,” Mellado said through social networks.
It was indicated that patients who were not cited will not be treated. VOCES expects today’s vaccination to end at 4:00 pm
