On alert for infections among young people aged 20 to 29 | government

At a time when there is an increase in confirmed cases of Covid-19, the secretary of the Department of Health (DS), Lorenzo González Feliciano, alerted today to an increase in the number of infections of young people between the ages of 20 to 29 years.

According to the daily Health report, there are 425 cases of Covid-19 in young people between these ages confirmed by molecular testing and 1,015 by serological testing.

Of the cases confirmed by molecular testing, 222 (17.2%) are women and 203 (15.7%) are men, for a total of 425 infected (16.5%). While the probable cases are 531 women (14.0%) and 484 men (15.7%), for a total of 1,015 probable cases (14.4%).

“The group that increased the most in the positives was the group of 20 to 29 years old, which is one of the most mobile groups. Young people who presume themselves can take risks thinking that they are not going to get sick or die. So one of the things that we have to emphasize … is the importance of education to the population. Recognize that we are all vulnerable, that we can all become infected, that we can all get sick and that we can all die, "he said in an interview with EL VOCERO .
