Police Bureau updates data on Covid-19


Since the emergency arose, 4,749 members of the Bureau have returned to their work. Five members of the Police Bureau have died during this emergency.

SAN JUAN – The commissioner of the Puerto Rico Police Bureau (NPPR), Henry Escalera Rivera, offered this Tuesday updated data on Covid-19 in the barracks and staff of the Bureau.

At the moment, six barracks and / or work units are closed as a preventive measure. These are:

Cupey Barracks in San Juan
Division of the San Juan Police Athletic League
Ceiba Maritime Unit
Camuy Barracks
Stolen Vehicles from Arecibo
Arrest and Extradition Division

Currently, 220 members of the Police have positive results for Covid-19, according to the tests ordered and certified by Dr. María Del Carmen Calderón, and 561 members are isolated as a preventive measure.

Since the emergency arose, 4,749 members of the Bureau have returned to their work. Five members of the Police Bureau have died during this emergency.

Personnel assigned to neighboring barracks have been appointed to those affected to reinforce preventive patrols and deal with complaints that are reported.

In all barracks and closed units a decontamination and deep cleaning process is carried out.
