PONCE – Police reported Thursday that the suspect in the murder of a Uniformed agent was placed under arrest.
According to the Uniformed, a motor vehicle was seized.
The Police Commissioner, Colonel Antonio López Figueroa, regretted the murder of agent Erasmo García Torres, 50 years, who entered the Police Bureau on June 28, 1991. Currently García Torres he worked in the Ponce Motorized Unit.
“The death of Erasmo García Torres hurts us deeply because when they kill one of my policemen, they kill a brother, a friend, a loved one and part of our being is torn from us. To his family, our total solidarity and wishes for strength in this process. Let them know that we will be with them”, Expressed López Figueroa in written statements.
Governor Pedro Rafael Pierluisi Urrutia spoke out about the suspect’s capture. “This crime will not go unpunished. The Puerto Rico Police and the Puerto Rico Department of Public Safety they acted quickly and effectively to clear up this murder. There will be justice for our fallen hero, Agent Erasmo García Torres. RIP ”, said the governor on his social networks.

At noon, during a vehicular intervention, an agent from the Ponce Area Motorized Unit intervened with the suspect on Villa Street, Esquina Venus, where the agent was subsequently shot twice.
He was transported in a patrol to an Emergency Room, where he died.
No further details were provided after the arrest.
