San Juan – The designated commissioner of the Police Bureau, Colonel Antonio López, said this Tuesday morning that they are looking for a person in the Luis Lloréns Torres residence linked to the murders of three police officers this Monday and will remain there until they are found. .
The police officers killed on Monday were identified as state official Luis Marrero Díaz, and municipal officials Luis Salamán Conde and Eliezer Hernández Cartagena.
The person the Police are looking for was captured in several videos during the incidents that culminated in the deaths of two officers from the Carolina Municipal Police and one from the State Police.
The identity of the person who is wanted by the authorities was not confirmed by Colonel López.
Regarding the discovery of a corpse in Santurce, with a sign above that identified him as the person who killed the three policemen, Colonel López said that the information has been corroborating from the moment the body was found around the 1:59 this morning.
“I am responsible for the murder of the guards,” says the sign found on the body.
Police have not confirmed if the person they are looking for in the death of the three agents is the federal fugitive Carlos Cotto Cruz, known by the nickname Wassa, 33 years old and a Caguas resident.
Authorities are investigating whether a man found dead at about 1:59 am this Tuesday, at the intersection of San José street with the marginal Muñoz Rivera, in Santurce, is related to the murder of three policemen on Monday.
An anonymous call alerted the authorities to a person on the pavement and when the agents arrived at the scene they located the body of a man with multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of the body.
The deceased has not been identified.
Agents assigned to the Homicide Division of the San Juan Criminal Investigation Corps in conjunction with the prosecutor on duty are investigating the event.
